Welcome to CIAVA!

The Central Indiana Association of Volunteer Administration exists to support those who coordinate, manage and direct volunteers for organizations throughout Central Indiana. If I just described what you do, I hope you will take a closer look at the benefits that await you through an association with CIAVA!

•	Monthly meetings with featured speakers and programs related to the field of volunteer management and administration
•	Opportunities to network and share information with fellow volunteer coordinators/managers/directors in Indianapolis and the surrounding communities
•	Access to the member directory as well as relevant community, training and education material via this website
•	Participation in training sessions and conferences at a reduced cost, such as the Volunteer Basics series which includes topics on volunteer position development, recruitment, screening, orientation and training, supervision, recognition and retention.
•	Support in continued efforts to professionalize the field of volunteer management.

You will find CIAVA members are vastly diverse and come from a variety of settings such as social service agencies, museums and cultural institutions, and healthcare facilities just to name a few. However, we all have one thing in common: Volunteers within our organizations make all the difference in the world, literally. As individuals, paid or unpaid, charged with the responsibility of coordinating volunteers who play such a vital role in our community, we must always endeavor to serve in our positions in a manner that is knowledgeable, effective, ethical and professional. It is in this spirit CIAVA strives to support its members.
